Our Chronic Pain &
Physical Therapy Services:
Chronic pain is a complex problem that oftentimes has multiple sources that require different therapeutic solutions.
The AppliedMethod®
The AppliedMethod® utilizes a hybrid approach in the management of pain. It incorporates principles and theories from various schools of thought to include: Deep Laser Therapy, Osteopathic Manual Therapy, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Meridian Therapy (ETPS) and Postural Therapy. This allows for an extremely effective and versatile approach to the treatment of chronic pain.

Class IV Deep Laser Therapy:
A non-surgical option that truly has the power to eliminate or significantly reduce your pain. The LCT-1000 works by flooding the tissues with photons, energizing the damaged cells and increasing circulation to the painful area. This produces a cascade of healing responses in your body, reducing inflammation, thereby reducing or even eliminating your pain. Treatments take just a few minutes, however the therapeutic effect continues to soothe and heal long after you leave the office. Five to ten brief treatments with this powerful laser is all it takes to realize life changing results.
Osteopathic Manual Therapy (joint repositioning):
Decreasing painful input by restoring normal joint function. Restoring normal joint function helps to release contracted muscles (trigger points) adjacent to that spinal segment, release subclinical nerve entrapments (neuropathy) and restore both normal nerve and muscle function.
Trigger Point Therapy (Intramuscular Manual Therapy/Dry Needling):
Based on scientific evidence combined with neurophysioIogical principles. It involves the inactivation of a muscular trigger point by inserting a thin filament needle into the muscular taut band or thru the use of a Class IV Deep Laser. Inactivation of the taut band restores the contracted band to its original length, which decreases pain, improves muscle flexibility, strength and function.
Meridian Therapy/ETPS:
According to Eastern Medicine, disease occurs when there is a disruption in the body's energy flow along a meridian channel. Meridian therapy involves the stimulation, with the use of low intensity direct current, of various relevant acupoints along a meridian channel. Stimulation of these points causes the release of the body's natural pain relievers and helps to restore proper energy flow throughout the body. This helps to bring the body back to optimum health.
Postural Assessment:
Science and research has repeatedly demonstrated that poor posture can lead to structural misalignments, muscular imbalances, joint and nerve compressions, movement compensations, joint degeneration and chronic pain. The AppliedMethod utilizes a state of the art digital imaging system, such as Biotonix or techniques learned through The Egoscue University, to help determine postural deviations and muscular imbalances that may be contributing to altered joint function and pain.
*Techniques utilized are based on clinical findings and clinical experience, and often change with the patient's condition.
